Metallography - Metallographic Imaging, Analysis

Send us your metallic or ceramic sample(s) and we will perform metallographic imaging for you. This service is priced between $50 and $200, depending on the required preparation of the samples, which typically involves sectioning, grinding, electro-polishing, casting and processing in an appropriate metallographic etchant. We follow the preparation procedures recommended in "ASM Handbook: Volume 9: Metallography And Microstructures". Please contact us for a quote.

In addition to microstructural features, we can also image unusually large features by mosaicing. Imaging is done using our inverted, EPI-illuminated optical microscope equipped with an X-Y stage. Images are captured at maximum magnification of 1250x, and maximum resolution of 3008x2000 pixels per frame.
