Chemical Polishing / Pickling of Titanium Parts

We can perform chemical polishing of parts (or assemblies) of titanium using the hydrofluoric acid / nitric acid process. We can provide this service economically whether it is for a single piece, just a few parts, or large amounts of parts. Please contact us for a free quote.

• Typical Process:
  • Ultrasonic degrease
  • Clean in alkaline solution
  • Vapor degrease in trichloroethylene (optional)
  • Rinse in running water
  • Mounting of part in pickling bath
  • Pickle in aqueous 15:1 nitric / hydrofluoric acid bath (15-40% wt. to 1.0-2.0% wt., typically 33.2% to 1.6%)
  • Rinse in deionized water
  • Boil in deionized water (if parts have recesses)
